Alan's Story
I recently published The Northstar Singers Songbook...a personal perspective on the 1960s folk music revival, along with nearly 100 songs arranged for guitar and folk singing as arranged and performed by the Northstar Singers. I am very glad to have been been able to stay in touch with Tom Pederson and Dan Nelson, my fellow Northstar Singers, as well as others who performed with us, including Rod Grimm, Patty Elias and Bruce Person. Still looking to connect with Tom Kysilco and Bruce Calin. The band had a reunion here in June 2011 and recorded a new Greenbank Jam album.

r the Arts, the WICA Chamber Singers. I am staying active in the community, through musical productions and the University of Minnesota alumni association.
My daughters are both doing well, Brigit as a teacher in the Seattle area and Lindsay as business development manager for Classy Jazzy "Cutique" in Scottsdale.
My wife Beth (Bentson RHS '67) was office administrator for a Mayo physician practice in Scottsdale and is now working at the Island Women's Clinic here.
In 2008, we moved from Scottsdale, Arizona to Greenbank, Washington on rural, wooded Whidbey Island in Puget Sound. Thanks to internet technology, I am running my own business from here. Under contract with U-Haul International, my firm provides employee benefits and health insurance to U-Haul's 15,000 independent dealers in the U.S. and Canada.
