Alanna's Story
Life
I am married w/2 kids, a 16 yr. old step-daughter who I have been with since she was 5 yrs. old and a 9 yr. old son with my current husband. Animals, yes they are a must!!!! I am a sucker for strays but hubby put a limit on that. I have a stray beagle and a stray cat. The other dog we purchased and the other cat we purchased. We have 4 animals plus fish. My dream is to learn how to ride a motorcycle and will take classes at college of lake county soon. I will have a Harley someday and cruise through Red Rock Canyon in Las Vegas. We currently have a nice house ( my first one ) in Round Lake Beach with nothing but wetland on the one side of us. Lots of nature and animals which suits me just fine. I work at Home Depot just 5 minutes from our house which allows me to sleep in and you know push it to work : ) My son is in football with the Spartans and has been playing real football since he was 5. He scares me sometimes because he is so small yet he can care less about the bigger dudes he is up against in football. Born 6 weeks early at 4lbs. 2 oz. he is very intelligent and knows football and playstation inside and out. My step daughter just got her license and look out !!!!!!!!! No, she is good at driving yet we only let her drive to and from high school and her first job at Great America. As for me, I work full time and do it all around the house including yard work (which I love). I also help out my mom with cutting her grass, shoveling, etc. since I lost my dad to prostate cancer 2 yrs. ago. 2 days after his birthday. She is living near all of us in the Round Lake, Lake Villa area. She has a full time care giver due to a fall she took in the house about 6 months ago. My sister Pat lives 5 minutes from us, and she also works at Home Depot with me. Her daughter Gina is finally finishing up college at University of Minnesota. She will get on with the Department of Natural Resources. She just got done in the field with other classmates and they trapped a black ...Expand for more
bear to study it. My younger brother Bryan is in his own business doing Hanson's Appliance repair, and my older brother Glenn is divorced and still in Hanson home heating. His 2 daughters have went their own way. Becki now lives in New Mexico and had a baby girl, born on March 10,05. Elissa, the younger daughter is having some serious problems at this time. Elissa is about 32 yrs old. and Becki a few years older. I stay out of a lot of the problems and go about my business and family. My mom is my concern at this time. She is doing very well, but does get forgetful (which is expected) yet I worry about her smoking still and leaving a cigarette burning somewhere. I don't have time for myself right now.........
I do have a habit of dwelling on the past, both of high school times and trips to the beaches at night. That seems to keep me going !!!!!!!!!!!
I find it hard to believe how fast time goes. Kind of scary to me. I remember my first Z28 camaro and the trips downtown Chicago............. Oh, how I LOVED that Z : ) I look back at all the fun and crazy times I had and wouldn't change it for the world. I remember Max who I met through my younger brother Bryan when they both worked at Marathon gas station. We dated for about two years when I was 21, and on June 30, 84 at 24, got married. Things didn't work out for us and we got divorced in 1986. I still think of him often, and the fun we used to have going to clubs downtown, taking his pick up down a huge snow hill with a cop sitting there waiting, going to the beach at night, and just hanging out working on our z-28's in his dads garage in skokie. I remember sneaking in his house at night when his parents room was smack dab next to his. Oh, I also remember hanging out at a bar in highwood all the time.
The best is when Max locked his keys in his Z at this bar and had to call his brother Angelo from Skokie to come and open car. He got there after a long while and we had already gotten in the car. OOPS..........
