Albert's Story
Went to San Mateo Community College, then San Francisco State University and then University of San Francisco. Worked 38 hours/week and full time summers at a indoor parking building in San Francisco's financial district to put myself through college--made fairly good money so didn't consider it a hardship. Most of my personal friends in College were foreigners (Korean, Iraqi, Pakistani, Indian, German and Israeli). Took a freighter from Montreal upon finishing college, bought a used motorcycle in Munich, visited my German friend and toured for 8 months. Came back and got a job with Ford Motor Company (being somewhat of a car-nut). I did well and transferred...Expand for more
to a couple of other jobs in the computer software field. Lived in the SF Bay Area at the time and Bill Forrester (remember him--he was my best friend at SSH) asked me to join him in Seattle at a stock brokerage firm where he headed up the non stock and bond investment products (Bill died about 5 years ago in Texas--where he was from). I became National Sales Manager and stayed for about 5 years before forming my own firm. Have been in that field since and delt in venture capital, syndication and investment banking. Am now retired and living in Anthem, Arizona (a suburb about 20 miles north of Phoenix--moved in December of 2013 from Leavenworth, Washington.
