Life
To all "Big" Al Pope's high school friends I have sad news
this is his widow posting information as I see he is getting several e mails
Albert passed away 5 years ago January 18th 2002
from prostrate cancer. It was very sudden he was told about Thanksgiving 2001 and was gone within the year. We have 2 wonderful sons Greyson 28 and Klayton 23 (in 2007). Yes both played football and other sports. Klayton's team went all region and Al was able to relive his senior year at Kennedy as they went from no wins as freshmen to all wins his senior year. al was a land surveyor at the time of his death, a...Expand for more
nd had been a policeman and meat cutter before that. We were married for over 27 years. We still miss him dearly, but keep in touch with his high school buddies, and Boyd Carmon's widow (they stood up for each other at our weddings) and we were married 1 week apart. Al was very successful and a wonderful father and role model to many young people here at our home in California. Please pray for him. We tried to plant a tree at Kennedy but that fell through and they wouldn't let us retire his jersey. He always talked of his great memories at Kennedy. Love to all of you who loved him.
