Alberta's Story
Hi there Balboa Bucs, ,UPDATED 1/26/16 I have been busy raising a lovely talented (singer) daughter and now a talented ( dancer) Granddaughter Cheyenne. I worked in sales for 20 years in the "Cannery" in Fishermen's Wharf. I loved meeting tourists from around the globe. I married a musician. Tyrone Rivera and his brothers were a popular band in the sixties called the "Brotherly Love" I sure miss those happy days at Balboa High. Being in school during the sixties was a electric time. It was certainly a time of contrast. From Mel's Drive-in to Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young at the Fillmore. Everyday was a Kodak moment. I changed my job from sales to Chef in the 1980's. It was an exciting time cooking in the Café.. I like to Oil Paint for a hobby. Buc,s and long lost friends I miss through the years Kathy Roberts, Nubia L., Diane, Cathy Farnum, Mary Lou H, Freddy Cascias. If you are any of these people shoot me a message and say Hello!
I always wanted to be a dancer/artist when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a risky idea. As it turns out, they were half right. See my photo's. You will see some of my favorite things. I love English Tea with the girls & girl friends, and I posted some of my favorite Oil paintings from various artists. And a few pictures of my daughter (blue the heels) and granddaughter ( in the white hat).
My favorite tunes back in the day were Shotgun! and WIl you still love me Tomorrow .I love the Doo-wop music. Also watch the Doo-wop groups on youtube, like lead SINGER Len Barry, the Dovels remember the ( Bristal Stomp). Check them out! I think he is so fine!
If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have strong cup of coffee, Gas in the car, and See's candy to be able to deal with the day-to-day.
My hero is the kid who broke his knee twice during his performance in the Olimpics Gymnastics. He was so brave. He became a Gold Metaiist after his thrid try and thrid operation.
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again i...Expand for more
s Kathy Roberts, because she is trustworthyand funny.
TCM Old movie .and CHANNEL 9
If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the floorand put in beautiful Brazilian hardwood and add a Victorian bathtub. My dream home would be 1880 Victorian with an English garden landscape. I have a sun room with a stain glass ceiling to take High Tea in the afternoon. And a massive barn with a stage, just for dancing!
Kids are fun and keep you young. I like to and play and be silly with them. I opened up a fine Daycare when my grand child Cheyenne was born. It a very popular and creative daycare. I ALWAYS had a on-going waiting list. We would have cooking class for kid every Friday. See the photo's of them baking cookies in my album!,
Kids keep you on the go, and honest.
If I won $100 million, I'd give half of it to help heal women from abuse then spend the rest on animals, travel to Spain.
My current age is 66. yuck.. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be cranky. I was so completely right. .Not me but others. Keep your sense of humor people baby boomers! Watch a comedy! Go to the zoo, the animals will make you laugh!
Two keep up with my daughter & granddaughters gigs.
My best friend would tell you I'm a creative person, ,upbeat, and love to have bar-b-q parties. but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as a nut.
I love Sandra Dee. Her movies she looks great.
I share my home with my daughter..
In 10 years, I hope to be on a permaanet vacation. I'm going to buy a camper!.
Laughed at the same jokes.
My first job was at clothing factory, where I got paid peanuts to steam press. What I remember most about it is I spent my whole check on earrings.
Going shopping at the Emporium for the first time on our own with my best friend Kathy Roberts at the time, and buying a Easter outfit (suit & scarf) at age13. We had fine lunch and felt so proud of our choice in ensemble. We felt so classy and grown up. A cool expierance for two young teens.
