More about Alex:"I am a wife to Alex and mother of THREE boys. I love to sing, scrapbook and teach.
I was born in Murray, UT living in Sandy until my freshman year (after starting at Jordan HS) we moved to Pleasant Grove (back to JHS, urgh). Just got settled, made awesome friends, singing and marching with the drill team, and we moved again the middle of my Jr year to Brigham City, UT. It was a rough move, but again, I was blessed with GREAT friends who helped me adjust to another HS move. I was blessed to move just down the street from Rosemary Mathews, who changed my life (for good)! I started voice lessons with her the middle of my Sr year and went to Weber State on full-ride scholarship (except for the first semester). I had many wonderful experiences singing all types of music, of course, my favorite was Lyric Theater, singing opera scenes and operas. I graduated with a Bachelor's in Music Performance and Communications minor. Rosemary (aka my 2nd mother) suggested I audition for Ted Puffer in Reno (UNR). I did, and once again, I was given so many opportunities to sing and meet MANY ...Expand for more
wonderful friends! I went to UNR working on my Masters in Music Performance and sang with the Nevada Opera for 5 years. I had so many wonderful experiences. Ted Puffer was an amazing teacher, and BRILLIANT! I loved working with him and all of the amazing people associated with Nevada Opera. I have some of my fondest memories there! In 1991, Alex Flores moved from Mesa, AZ to Reno, NV to start a bi-lingual radio station. He and another guy (both graduated from the Radio Broadcasting school in AZ) came up together and stayed at the residential hotel (Truckee River Lodge) I worked at! We did NOT hit it off (ask him for the extended version of "he said, she said"). They moved into an apartment about 1 1/2 months later and found out there was a singles ward (University Ward) and came to a dance, where he danced with my roommate. We danced the night away and the rest is history! We got married January 10, 1992 in the Jordan River Temple (the temple I helped build in Sandy). We lived in Reno for another year and then had an opportunity to move to Arizona. I got into Property Management and therefore, we moved quite a bit. For 8 years, we never lived in the same place for more than 1 1/2 years! Yikes! But I got an awesome job with Scott Homes (Multifamily) starting as the Property Manager for their first luxury apt comm, Desert Mirage in Gilbert, AZ. I was then promoted to Regional Manager as we started building our 2nd luxury apt comm. Soon after, I found out I had breast cancer. It was a rare type of BC that required a mastectomy. God blessed me and I am cancer-free almost 10 yrs later! In 1994 we were blessed with our first son, Dion. In 2002, we were double blessed with twin boys, Royce and Bryce. I have been a work-at-home mom since the twins and I am so grateful! I love teaching! We have been in our home almost 10 years (thank goodness no more moving). I am blessed!".
