Alfred's Story
I went into the USAF after school and spent all my time in the far east bouncing around until I laneded in Pleiku, Vietnam for 18 months. I was a Security Forces member with a K9. Our job was to protect the Air Base from attack.
After the USAF I worked for the Dade County Sheriffs Dept. (Miami Dade Police now) for about 2 years when I decided that I needed a job that pays real money so I went to work for Southern Bell. 40 Years later I'm still with them and plan to retire in the next year. been planted here ever since. I love to camp and hunt porkers in the swamp of my hunting land. I ride a 2007 Harley Electra Glide Classic. I belong to the American Legion, Sons of the American Legion, 40/8, American Legion Riders, and Patriot Guard riders. When I came home from Vietnam, there was no one there to welcome me home. I was spit on, shunned and call horrable names. I now stand for all veterans and welcome them home, attend their funerals and support their families. I do not want them to experince the lack of support I had.
