Alfredo's Story
I was born in San Antonio, Texas. I grew up in the south side and attended St. Joseph Catholic School for eight years. After St. Joseph's I graduated from South San High School in 1976 and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. I served in the infantry and rose in rank and position after learning from some of the best leaders in my units. I served on Embassy Duty, Weapons Instructor Duty at Parris Island, South Carolina and before retiring, served as El Paso's senior Recruiter and Non-Commissioned Officer In Charge. My most memorable time in the Corps was when I served my Marines as platoon sergeant. My Platoon Commander and I led our platoon across the Al Wafrah Forest in Kuwait during our biggest battle in Desert Storm. ...Expand for more
While in the Marine Corps I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Management. In 1995, I earned a Master's Degree in Management and then a second Master's Degree in Public Administration with a minor in Police Administration in 2005. I graduated from the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia and then served in the FBI's Counterterrorism Division at FBI Headquarters in Washington D.C. In 2012 I retired from law enforcement and served in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan working with the United States Marine Corps on a civilian contract. I recently returned from Puerto Rico where I served in Executive Protection immediately following Hurricane Maria. I'm awaiting our next 1976 reunion - I've yet to attend one!!!
