Alice's Story
My co-workers and friends always said I'd be the first one married. Ha! It's only been 7 years and what a start!
Honeymoon from Hell:
Mark and I married, just prior to sunset, at a little park on the ocean not from from Diamond Head in Oahu. What an evening! It went from corny to disastrous. At the end of it all, we had to laugh.....
While we were being married, someone tried to steal our rental car. In doing so, the locks were broken and we couldn't gain access to anything but the trunk. There I am, stranded on the highway in my wedding dress while Mark tried to hitch a ride into Waikiki. Would anyone stop? Nooooooo.
Finally, the travelling companion of our bestman/bridesmaid came by on a itsy-bitsy scooter. We were rescued! He took mark into town to get a replacement car. By now,a few hours had passed and we had missed our wedding dinner c...Expand for more
ruise. We finally ended up going to dinner at a Thai restaurant around 10 pm.
I'd like to say the problem ended there, but it did not. Three days later, while at the PCC and Arizona Memorial, our room was broken into and almost everything was taken, including the room's tv. It was the one day we left everything behind. I didn't even have a hairbrush. Unfortunately, they also took our camera and film, so no wedding pics. At least Mark got to wear the gold custom-made cuff-links once. Perhaps I will get Jedco, in Edmonton, to make them again, for our 10th anniversary.
There's a LOT more to the story (missing luggage, screwed-up in-flight meals, tour company not knowing what day we were coming in, fights with the hotel, more lost/damaged luggage and screwed up meals, reception months before wedding, etc.) but we will save that for another time, yes???
