Alice Troglin:  

vI am Alice Mae Troglin (Lanning)-I graduated in 1952 from Willoughby Union High School. I was born in Murray City Ohio-(Southern Ohio). My father was a coal minner and preacher. My mother raised (6) children. I was next to last. I got married shortly after graduation-to a very good southern man. We had (5) children. My husband worked in a factory in Cheveland ,Ohio. I have been a widow for 8 yrs now. I live alone- next to my oldest son. I have been a child of God for 54 yrs. I have enjoyed my life ,and am still having a good time with my children,grandchildren and great-grand children. I miss my husband very much-But my life goes on -until I go to see him and my loved ones. Alice I had a very good childhood. Loving parents - (4) sisters-(1)brother. When the coal mines' went down in Murray, City- our familey moved to Willoughby-so my father could find work. I wish that every child could have a childhood like I had.save your story I started school at Lincoln Elementry in third grade. -Then went to Browning Jr. High-Then graduated from Willoughby Union High in 1952. I will never forget my father coming home from the coal mines. He always had bread left in his lunch box. My sister and I REALLY ENJOYED EATING IT. I guess that it tasted better after being under ground all day. I HOPE THAT MY FRIENDS REMEMBER ME AS A KIND PERSON. I WAS A QUIET PERSON -SO SOME OF MY CLASSMATES MAY NOT REMEMBER ME. I AM LIVING A GOOD LIFE. I HAVEN'T FOUND A CHURCH HOME HERE YET. I LOVE TO BE WITH PEOPLE THAT ARE BORN AGAIN CHRISTIONS. AFTER I WAS SAVED AND BAPTISED -I TAUGHT BIBLE SCHOOL. I STUDIED THE LESSONS' -SO THAT I DIDN'T TEACH THE CHILDREN WRONG. ONE DAY -I CAME HOME AND MY HUSBAND SAID"DIDN'T YOU FORGET SOMETHING TODAY?"-I SAID NO-EVERY THING WENT VERY WELL-THE CHILDREN WERE GOOD AND LISTENED TO ME. MY HUSBAND SAID-'-TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY."-HE HAD BOUGHT A CAKE-AND SERVED ME A STEAK DINNER.Save your story I HAVE ENJOYED THE LIFE THAT I HAVE LIVED-I don't know if any one remembers me-but that is o.k.-God knows me-as one of his little ones' AND LOOK TOWARD LIVING SOME MORE GOOD YEARS. I THINK THAT I WILL LIKE IT IN PIKEVILLE-MY HUSBANDS RELATIVES' LIVE THERE . THERE IS ONLY (4) left out of (13). I ONLY HAVE (2) SISTERS AND (1) brother left out of (6). I MISS ALL OF THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE PASSED AWAY-BUT -I WILL SEE THEM AGAIN SOMEDAY. I ALWAYS WANTED TO BE A MISSIONARY-AND HAVE BEEN-(A HOME MISSIONARY. IF NOT-I AM READY TO GO -WHEN-EVER HE CALLS ME.save story Save Story I always wanted to be a hat disigner when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a wrong idea. As it turns out, they were right. I am in memphis tn.-visiting my daughter and family. I have been enjoying the grand children. I am a very sincere person and do not care for people that -think they are better than I AM. GOD CREATED US ALL EQUAL AND HAS UNCONDITIONAL LOVE FOR US. I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM MY CLASS MATES. I WAS A VERY QUIET PERSON IN SCHOOL. I HAD PLANS' TO GET MARRIED AS SOON AS I GRADUATED.-AND I DID. I MARRIED A VERY GOOD SOUTHERN MAN. HE WAS TALL DARK and HANDSOME. WE WENT TOGETHER FOR(3) years.-beore marriage. He worked and saved his money-I went to schoo and graduated. my parents' were very strict. We were only aloud to date on the week end-then he had to leave at 9pm. I finally talked my parents into letting me go to the vine theator on a double date -with my sister (GLADYS) AND HER BOY FRIEND. I THOUGHT THAT I HAD BEEN STOOD UP-AS HE WAS VERY LATE. MY PARENTS AND MY SISTER LEFT TO GO TO THE THEATOR- -WHEN-- HE FINALLY CAME- HE SAID THAT HE HAD HEARD HOW STRICT MY PARENTS' WERE WITH US GIRELS'-SO HE WALKED AROUND THE BLOCK ABOUT (5) times befor getting the nerve to come to the door.save your story I ALWAYS WANTED A BABY BOY-AND GUESS WHAT---GOD SENT US A VERY TINEY BABY BOY -HE WEIGHED 3 pounds-13 oz. WE NAMED HIM AFTER HIS DAD. I always wanted to be a mother. I wanted a boy first-God granted that-then a girl-then a boy -then a girl-then a boy. I SOUND LIKE THE BEGATS' IN THE BIBLE.Save story I THINK THAT BEING A MOTHER -IS THE MOST CHALENGING POSITION THAT THERE IS. I ONLY WORKED OUTSIDE THE HOME -WHEN I WANTED TO. MY HUSBAND HAD A GOOD JOB -WITH GOOD INSURANCE. WITH THE FIRST THREE CHILDREN-I LEARNED A LOT. WITH THE NEXT TWO IT WAS EASIER.save my story I HAD TWO FAMILIES -BY THE SAME MAN. IT WAS FUN -HAVING MY CHILDREN GROW UP WITH MY GRAND CHILDREN.MY GRAND DAUGHTER IS 4 MONTHS' OLDER THAN MY SON. I WOULD LIKE TO STAY LONGER BUT MY SON HAS BUSINESS TO TAKE CARE OF AT HOME. We went to Sarasota, Fla to visit my brother and 2 sisters. We had a very good visit. My sister (Mary) had heart surgery and is recovering from that. I WOULD LIKE FOR EVERY ONE THAT READS THIS TO REMBEMBER HER IN YOUR PRAYERS. She has live a long life and is ready to go be with the Lord.She is 82 yrs. old. My sister is doing very well-Thanks for the prayers. My brother has quit drinking-and we had a good visit. I attended a Halloweene party tonight. we had good food -and enjoyed handing out candy to the little ones.ASAVE YOUR STORY MY GRANDSON AND FAMILY CAME TO DINNER TONIGHT. Today is two of my older grandsons birthdays. One is thirty and the other is 34. They are both fine young men. My daughters' twins (boys) will be having a birthday soon. I am going to Memphis Tn. for their birthday and Thanksgiving. I will be visiting them until after Christmes. I PRAY THAT EVERY ONE WILL HAVE A NICE THANKS GIVING AND MERRY CHRISTMAS. I am going to my sons' for Thanksgiging dinner. I'm sure We will have a good time. We did have a good time at our Thanks giving dinner.I have a lot to be thankful for. God has been good to me. I am visiting my daughter and family now.
