Soon after graduation I got a job with a company that snuffs out oil well fires. I traveled the world and spent a lot of time in the middle east after the first gulf war putting out oil well fires that were set ablaze by the Iraq army. While over there I had an idea to maintain a high level charge in a Lithium Ion battery for long periods of time without a charge. I sold the idea to GM in 1998. Next year GM will begin production of the Volt. A hybrid designed to utilize the Lithium Ion battery I had sold to them years prior.
