Military I joined the Army in September of 1981, not knowing anything about the military, all I knew was I had to do something because there were no jobs to speak of in 1981 and I had partied and slept my way through two quarters of college at Ohio University. I went to basic training at Fort Knox with Tollie Woods. (We joined together) We then went to Fort Gordon, Georgia for training to become Radio Teletypewriter Operators. We both went to Germany in 1982 and ran into Edward Allen who was in our graduating class. He was an Army Sharpshooter. Oddly enough, a guy named Mark Price was stationed with me later in 1982 that graduated from Adams two years after we did. I didn't know him in school but he remembered me from school. Tollie and I both went to Fort Hood in 1984 where I became a Sergeant after 2 1/2 years of service. In 1985, Tollie decided that he wanted to get out and move to Houston with his sister. I re-enlisted for another three years and went back to Germany. I stayed in Germany for four years during that rotation. I met a young lady from Columbus and we married in 1989. We were stationed at Fort Gordon from 1990 to 1994 where I worked as an instructor of communication systems. We seperated in 1994 when we both went to Korea. I met my curr...Expand for more
