Allen's Story
Life
I'm newly married, with a daughter in elementary school. I live six houses away from the route of the annual Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena, CA. I'm involved with the National Organization for Men Against Sexism. I still love Jesus, but I've mellowed quite a bit since HS (for instance, I believe in strengthening the wall between Church and State. Preferably with steel rebar and concrete.)
School
Had a crush and a brief romance with Ardith Beitel, who then moved away. A multi-year relationship with Julie Stoll ended on Thanksgiving Day, 1980.
Jeanette Willert and Susan Heffernan pushed me along in different ways. I miss singing harmony with Mr. K in 7th period study hall.

College
Went from Sweet Home to Elim Bible Institute (where I briefly dated Margaret Johnson), then Houghton College (B.S. 1986) (dating Dale Welwood), then Fuller Seminary (M.A. 1988). I married Margery Bennett, an administrator, and came onto Fuller staff in 1989, where I worked in the same office as my wife for 16 years. I came onto Fuller's administration in 2006.
Margery died in 2005, and I married Suse Sternkopf in 2009, and things could not be going better!
Workplace
I work in the administration at Fuller Theological Seminary, where I do degree auditing, and logistics for the annual Commencement exercises. The goal was to get a PhD in Sociology, and teach, but that looks increasingly unlikely.
