Military Basic Training in Camp Wolters, TX in summer & fall of 11944. Sailed to Europe from N. Y. day after Christmas, 1944 on Volundam. Seasick 14 days out of 16! Assigned squad leader 1st platoon, Co. A 112th Infantry ...Expand for more
Returned to US August 9, 1945. Promoted to Platoon Sgt in Sept. 1945. at Camp Shelby, Miss. Assigned Co. L 23rd Infantry. Served at Camp Swift, TX & Fort Lewis, WA until June 1946. Discharged at Fort Dix NJ on July 6, 1946
