Educators and Friends,
My two new short stories (Mystic ring and Full Circle) have been uploaded to Amazon.com. Please read the foreword for each as written by Chuck Holtzapple, Secondary Education Language Arts instructor (retired) of Red Lion, PA.
Although both are love stories between adult people, they do not have language or content which would prevent it from being utilized in a junior high and upper class level educational environment. Language skills would be more difficult for fifth grade and under.
Both short stories will be combined into one submission and is now available for purchase on e-readers or your computer from Amazon.com. Amazon will have a free app to download to allow viewing on your computer. The price is $3.99 for the download of both short stories.

âÂÂIn this captivating and powerful short story, Allen Brickhaus masterfully creates a passionate metamorphosis of sorts, as a delicate, young teacher aspires to make her mark within a placid, laid-back town of southern Illinois during the 1930's. An artistically structured fusion of sequences, "Mystic Ring" harnesses events of the past and unleashes them some fifty years later toward a warm, tearful, and mysterious outcome.
Katrina Ochs, a simple but attractive girl, meets a strong, handsome man of Irish descent who sweeps her off her feet and surrounds her with dreams of ethereal bliss. The bond between these two young lovers is, however, interrupted in a memorable account of heart-wrenching circumstances. The author magnificently paints a picture in words that makes the reader a part of the very story itself as an onlooker, perhaps, woven into the fabric of the plot. Anyone who has experienced the gamut of human emotions can relate to the characters and events of this poignant account of happiness, hearta...Expand for more

âÂÂA sequel to "Mystic Ring," "Full Circle" becomes author Allen Brickhaus' means to an end. Brilliantly crafted and resplendent in vivid description of events, this story serves to "tie loose ends" and disclose the mystery surrounding the events of the disappearance of Sean Flynn, a newly-wed Irish logger. Mr. Brickhaus employs homespun dialogue with down-to-earth characters that will engage the reader to the circumstances at hand and ponder the outcome of this most enigmatic story.
In essence, life oft presents seemingly insurmountable barriers as one treks through his existence in this mysteriously cold world. John Marshall, a character of wholesome attributes and genuine values, is a man caught in a dilemma beyond his control. In his quest to find answers to a perplexing issue, John is destined to uncover the missing piece of a puzzle from his past. Disturbed and intense, John ventures into an odyssey that brings closure to the mystery of his past and ushers in prospects of a warm and eventful future. "Full Circle" is aptly titled and will leave its readers with a vivid perspective of the proverbial light at the end of a dark tunnel. Undoubtedly, this is a feel-good story of significant PROPORTION.âÂÂ
