Allen Neuendorf:

CLASS OF 1985
Orange park, FL

Allen's Story

Tell my story it says.. humm well wouldn¿t my story be yours? Well first off I never graduated from Orange park High school but I did attend here as well as OP Middle from 1983-86 (ish). Foggy memory excuse me it¿s been awhile. =o) Anyways here is my recount: Back then you had 3 schools of kids. You had the stoners and these cats hung out at the wall, smoked cigs and talked about the upcoming bands. Then you had the Hicks, these fellas drove the big trucks worked in shop class and were big on drinking and football games and finally there were the jocks. Also big into the football games and where they were going for college. Somewhere in between a lot of other people fell like the new wave flock of Seagull fans and the Duran Duran crews but for the most part they were not really the main stock of kids at Op. As I recount this please don¿t get offend by the remarks as I¿m not trying to offend but recount only. I remember Mr.Jennings class and all the ¿bad¿ kids like Mike Sheehan, Mike Douglas, myself and a few others I hardly recall sitting in class looking up at the Van Halen posters and wishing all our classes could be like this one. In this time period Judas Priest, Ozzy, Grim Reaper, Iron Maiden, Scorpions, Dio, and many other sounds came from the kids that hung out at the wall as we recounted how last night we smoked some and fell into a bliss listening to the sounds of our favorite heavy metal bands.. (devil sign to the crew) but those days also had there own inherent problems like any other ones. Dealing with parents, isolation from the norms and a lack of true caring that set the wall headbangers apart from the majority. Doug Norlander was great on guitar and joined forces with Al and then several others I hardly r...Expand for more
ecall to form the band ¿Hemlock¿ and later this fell apart to be several other different bands and several other different folks. The singing of Dave Smith and my shabby guitar work also in there some place. John my old friend was saner then and he always had a joke or a smile that made me laugh. Then we had the mad man himself Danny Long (Remember that name?) yah we were walking off campus to Burger King and got popped and brought into the office for a spanking by the Dean. He sat there and told that guy all about himself and I could hardly stop from laughing. I might have gotten my butt tore up but the price was worth it. I stepped out of that office and we got in his little blue pick up and drove away listening to ¿Were not gonna take it¿ as loud as his little speakers could go up. (laughs) yah those were the days. I also recall a few of the girls, Jennifer Thomas (blue eyes), Becky Ramsey (prettiest eyes in the world.. like ambers), and many many more I wished I could have dated but never had the courage to ask out. But that is what high school is about.. discovering yourself and finding out who you are in the world. Taking those steps towards freedom and finding the true you. I would go into who I am today and what has become of me but that is not why your really here. You want remember when so lets just say, I¿m doing alright and I¿m surviving like you are. I still have my Orange Park High school year book and I still look over the memories of those I recount fondly just like everyone else and for all the bad that I might have been then I have grown up ok. The only differences I have with those around me is where I come from and all those people that helped teach me how to grow up and find myself. Take care folks.
