Amanda's Story

I lived in Aitkin, Mn until the end of my 7th grade year, then we moved to Royalton, Mn where I graduated in 1998. So now that my childhood is mapped out here's the rest of my story. I graduated 3 months pregnant with my daughter Alexis and had her at 19. I went to school for accounting, and decided I hated it. So I worked in factories instead, you name it I've done it. I lived in Brainerd for a while where I was a CNA and worked at the State Hospital in the chemical dependency unit. I moved back to St. Cloud, Mn at 21 and stayed in that area for the next 4 years. I worked at Pan O'Gold bakery where I made some of my best friends. I met Skinny at 22 and we dated for a year, at 23 I got pregnant and we eloped. The pregnancy was very hard, I lost 25 lbs due to extreme morning sickness, had massive bleeding and clotting, and was placed on bedrest at 10 weeks. I continued to have complications and my water broke at 20 weeks, I went another 3 1/2 weeks before having my son, Mitchell Lee. He was 3 1/2 months premature and weighed 1lb. 4oz., I had him in St. Cloud, he airlifted to Minneapolis for emergency surgery. He was brought back to St. Cloud after a month, he was stable and a month later he lost his battle. My son passed away Aug. 2003, it was and still...Expand for more
is the worst thing that has ever happened to me. Mine and Skinny's marriage fell apart, and divorced soon after. I was soon working at a window factory, where I drove forklift, welded vinyl, and loaded trucks, I loved that job. I was, a few times a year, driving 6 hours to visit my closest and dearest friend Jolene in WI. Then one fateful trip, I came for my usual visits, she said that I should meet her neighbor, she arranged a party for that evening, where I met Luis. We spent about 4 hours together at the party and the next morning I left for MN. From that night on, we spoke on the phone for hours daily. I moved to WI in June of 2005, where Luis owned his home and was right next to my best friend. We got married in Aug. 2006, and are as happy as ever. Alexis is now 9 and in the 3rd grade. We are not going to have anymore children, due to a diagnoses I recieved when I was pregnant, I was told to not have anymore children for my own health. So I had my tubes tied, plus if I were to get pregnant again, I would be at risk as well as risking going thru what I had already been thru with my son. That is not an option that I wanted. So that's the short edited version of my life and what I've been up to. If there's anything else you'll just have to ask.
