Amanda's Story
Interesting to see that people from high school remember me as "ambitious." I probably would not have thought that at the time. I remember myself in high school as painfully self-conscious, the quintessential outside observer, seldom comfortable, but that all worked out just fine.
After graduating from the University of Califonria, Irvine, I moved to Washington, DC to work for the US Student Press Association for a year, and then on to various jobs as a writer and editor for the Chronicle of Higher Education, Mother Jones, MS Magazine, Self Magazine, Health Magazine, then settled in for some length stays at the Washington Post, and finally U.S. News and World Report. After first U.S. News,folded, I began working, luckily, as an editorial consultant for the American Federation of Teacher, which is what I do now part-time.
I live in Churchton, Maryland, on the Chesapeake Bay.Sadly, too far away for the recent reunion. But I've had great reports and pictures from my dear friend, Charley Dobbs. Sounds like all of you that went had fun.
