Amber's Story
Life
After highschool I stayed in Flint and went to Mott for about three semesters. At that time I decided being in college was not right for me so I joined a volunteer program called Americorps(like the Peacecorps). I lived in Charleston, SC for about a year, but traveling all over the Southeastern states. After that I moved to Lansing and attended LCC for a little while. Then I moved to Japan to study and work for three semesters. (living out of the U.S. was the best thing I ever did for my perspective) My next move was Honolulu, HA for 8 months? Not in college, just living in a youth hostel and working. Next I moved to Seattle and then Upstate New York. I traveled the "mainland" from New york to Colorado hitting two countries and fifteen states. And two years ago I moved to Chicago(it's Dec. 2004 now). I attend Columbia College, major...Expand for more
in Poetry, and graduate in the Fall 2005. I live in a cute little brick coachhouse with my boyfriend of a year and a half. I work at a coffee shop, and recently gave up a job I really loved for school. I worked in a wood, metal, ceramic, and jewelry shop, showing people how to use the tools. I take dance classes at a the Oldtown school of folk music. I am not a huge fan of Chicago(aesthetically) and after I graduate my next move is L.A. Let's see... My parents still live in Flint, even though I try and convince them to move all the time. Susan Pieters is still one of my best friends. She is the only person I consistantly stay in contact with from highschool. She keeps me updated on some other people. She lives in New Orleans with her husband Greg. Overall, I am very happy even though I still do not know what I want to do with my live.
