Amber's Story

I believe it was Thomas Wolfe who said you can't go home again. And I think that's true. You grow up, you go through school, you go out into the world and try to make your way. And even if you do go home, it's not really the YOU that left home that returns. Your world view changes, your emotions change, your heart changes. You see home through new eyes so to speak. The things you thought growing up, are not what they once seemed. The dreams and aspirations you had before you left home, can seem trite and naive, when faced with the reality that is now. That can be a good thing, if you are up to the challenge of living in reality. Even though Albert Einstein would have argued that "Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one." The point...Expand for more
is that you can never return to that innocence, that wonder that existed before you left home to begin with. However, you can choose to live with an insatiable curiosity for knowledge and growth, which can be an altogether more enriching experience. I am forced to quote Einstein again here, because I believe it to be true: "The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day. Never lose a holy curiosity." I hope that as you read this, you are able to find wonder, awe, even some beauty in this thing called reality.
