Amelia's Story
Life
Amelia has been director at 19th Century Willowbrook Village in Newfield, Maine, for four years. Prior to that she was employed at the Southern Oregon Historical Society for 14 years where she worked with many community groups (such as draft horse, tractor, quilting) to provide hands-on experiences for families at the SocietyÂs 1857 Hanley Farm. Prior to her museum career, she was an educator, teaching various grades and subjects from preschool to 7th and 8th grade science.

far in southern California and southwestern Oregon. Before moving to Maine, Amelia and her husband Lee lived on a rural 27-acre farm raising llamas. Currently they live on a 2-acre parcel in Newfield Village--just a half mile from her work. They have two dogs--Cinder, a cairn terrier, and Cody, a Jack Russell mix--both adopted from animal shelters.
Amelia enjoys gardening, canning and pickling, long walks in the woods with the dogs, and a variety of crafts.
She currently serves on the Maine Archives and Museums board of directors and is program chair for the Newfield Historical Society.
