Amy's Story
Life
I am currently living in Maineville (Landen/Mason), Ohio. I work for a Japanese company called American Showa Inc. We make power steering parts for Honda and Subaru. I am the Japan Supply Purchasing Specialist. I order and track all the parts we buy from Japan.
My son, Sam, turned 8 in February, and he's in second grade in the Kings School District.
I'm really looking forward to meeting up with everyone for our 20th reunion the weekend of October 15th-16th!
Workplace
In 1988 I graduated from Ohio State with a BA in Japanese. I moved to Japan and taught English for two years, the moved into international relations. I worked this job for four years, and then in 1994 returned to the US.

and, IN, and took my first job as a Japanese translator at a company called Jaytec, Inc (now FCC Indiana). I worked there from 94 to 97.
I then took a new job with Kokoku Rubber located in Richmond, KY, where I worked as a shipping manager from 97 to 99.
In 1999 I was offered a job by PK USA, located in Shelbyville, IN. I worked there as a production control specialist/translator.
In 2001 I took a job as master scheduler with a company called Ryobi Die Cast, also located in Shelbyville. I worked for them for just over a year.
In November of 2002 I was offered my current position, buyer, with American Showa Inc, located in Blanchester, OH.
I purchase and track over 116 parts we buy from our parent company in Japan.
