Amy's Story
Life
Hey everybody! Amy used to be Davis here, now Amy Quick. Kinda funny and appropos, huh? Yes, I still talk too much, have never met a stranger and love my grown kids more than life itself!
Mary is 26 and works for Jackson County, doing work in the mental health field, and James is 22, works for Acura and bought his first house last year in Winder. They are wonderful and are the biggest joys of my life :) I was married for ten years and have been divorced longer-had to keep the fun last name though! hee hee!
I live up I-85 off Hamilton Mill in Buford. My landscape company, Quick Service Company, is 21 years old and I am thrilled to have been able to be self-employed, since I dropped out of college after 2 years and never made it back to be that world-renowned journalist and have Katie Couric's job! LOL! Never had the courage to do something like that-more of a "stick close to home" kinda gal anyway. My major in college was Journalism and my minor was Forestry! What a combo, huh? Remember, we were all eating pinecones with Euell Gibbons then, John Denver was Rocky Mountain High-ing and Jonathan Livingston was Seagulli...Expand for more
ng, so it seemed like an honorable profession (not having the SLIGHTEST idea what it entailed, mind you! :) BUT, the forestry/outdoor thing really stuck with me, and as raking pinestraw and working in our yard on Drew Valley Rd. was something I could COUNT on being a chore, I truly loved being outside-so I determined to figure out how to make a living doing something along those lines (I couldn't type or do ANY of those practical things to get an office job worth a darn; plus I just couldn't stand those quiet, controlled environments!) QSC does all sorts of landscaping-primarily commercial, but some residential and many HOA's. We also do "mini-General-Contracting" for the Big Boy G.C.'s, and organizing contractors and making them run on time and smoothly seems to be something I have a knack for, thank goodness!
I boat on Lake Lanier whenever I can-got an old boat and restored it last year. Always have loved the water and sunshing, plus hanging with family and friends-just doesn't get any better than that :)
I wish you love and happiness and sunshine-and how in the world did we get to be so old so fast? :) Warmest regards, Amy
