Amy's Story

I have had an interesting life... I went to college back East at a conservatory. Left, came home and got married at 20...dumb idea! I left him, (long story) and went back and marched with the Troopers until I aged out and then taught one year. I moved to Casper and worked on a performance degree and had my daughter Sara who is about to turn 22! She is an Elementary Education major at UW(our alma mater). I moved to Ft. Collins briefly then back to Laramie, WY and finished my degree in Music education. I have been teaching for 17+ years now in all age groups. Mostly General and Vocal Music. I have taught marching band and written drill. I met and married my husband of 18 years at UW and we moved to Denver in 1990, and back to Laramie in 1999. We then moved to St. Cloud, MN ...Expand for more
for 4 years and I taught Catholic Middle School which turned out to be kinda cool....I loved the kids! We moved back to Wyoming in 2004 and have been here since. My husband Milward is the Director of State Parks and Cultural Resources for Wyoming. He is also a musician, a percussionist with a degree in performance. We also have two more wonderful children, Alex who is about to be 16 and is playing Timpani for the Troopers Pit this year, following in mom and dad's footsteps!!! And Hunter who is about to be 14 and will be traveling to Scotland this summer. We're pretty proud of our kids. Despite our parenting they are turning out pretty well!! I enjoy teaching very much and would like to perhaps one day own my own Children's theatre company and also become a wildlife photographer!
