Brian's Story
Life
I was born a poor black child in Oakland, California and grew up in the Bay Area (Marin Co.). I moved to No. Virginia and attended Lake Braddock in Burke, Virgina and then spent a couple years pretending to be a college student to further enhance my tolerance to alcohol. After several "Black Out" scenarios I figured it would be best if I grew up and started a family. So I did but I only got that half right, started the family...never grew up. So, thats where divorce #1 comes in to the picture. Since I screwed that up I figured I had better grow up and get it right this time now that I have a son, Calvin born October 31st, 1991...that was right around our 1st conflict with Iraq. Crazy times...anyway...I moved to Vegas and worked as a manager with Household Credit Services and only played on The Strip once in a short while. I loved to gamble but hated to lose so it was not a good fit. So I moved to New England in a sleepy little town on the coast of New Hampshire called Portsmouth. I was then working with Prudential selling any financial vehicle known to man and the money started to roll in, work hard, more money, more money more fun, more fun...thats when I thought it was time to line up the 2nd future ex-Mrs. Mijo so I moved back to Vegas and tied the knot...again. I was tieing more knots than a Boy Scout at this point. Lets see if my "knotting skills improve this time around...two awesome kids...Cheyanne born March 16, 1998 and later, Austin - born November 16, 2000...thats where divorce #2 comes in to play. Better go back and work on thoe knotting skills again...So...2 succesful divorces now under my belt, I start thinking again...perhaps it's time to grow up(sound familiar?) so I get a better job, and then a better one after that...and so on and son on...and now I have a really sweet gig making some serious bank, so with this I venture off to buy a new home, new car, new job and yes, you guessed it...I new wife.(didn't actually buy the wife) My wife Amy rocks, she is the stability in my life that I have needed to keep me on track and although we frequently joke that she is the future Ex-Mrs. Mijo, I don't ever see that light at the end of this tunnel ever turning in to a freight train like the other. Choo-Choo!!! So life is good....sweet, in fact. I'm still a geek who listens to some crazy music from back in the days of High School and college but since Jerry died I no longer see The Dead. I rarely go to see any Heavy Metal venues any more although I just saw Social Distortion at The Hard Rock here in Vegas and those old farts still sound just as...Expand for more
hot as they did 20 years ago. Thats my life as of April 1st, 2005 and it's been a awesome ride so far. Hope the good times have rewarded you with some of lifes victories over the years and as I look back I have no regrets....WALSTIB.
School
I always lusted after 2 totally hot teenage hard bodies. One was Debbie Dooley who gave me a lifetime memory that I still recall to this day...no, not THAT kind of memory, it was actually one of those golden moments where she was bending over, a seat, I think, and gave me a perfect view directly up her cheerleaders skirt. I still carry that visual with me today...the other was Sam (Samatha) Fisk...something about her that drove me crazy however in my pre-hormonal puberty state, I never had the guts to tell her how I felt. See, I told you I was a geek...luckily I have been very well versed in the art of communication and well schooled in the art of...well, you fill in the blanks. So anyway, there ya go....a couple of spicy stories for the Class of 1984 regarding a couple of girls who still to this day would have no clue who the hell I am. Sad, isn't it.
College
One memory still haunts me to this day. It was time for my Biology Final Exam in the Summer of 1986 and I had a choice to make 20 minutes before the exam...Go to school and further my education and stay over at a friends house to do rails, drink beer and play Hacky Sac in the front yard after getting all toasty. I made the choice and still recall how cold that beer was on that very hot, hot sunny day in Burke, Virginia at that townhouses by the lake.
Workplace
The closest I ever got to flipping burgers was working at Chili's in Springfield, Virgina next to Mikes American Grill. This was my introduction to flirting 101 and how eager so many single, young females (mostly single) were to give you a telephone number if you smile and slide them a few free drinks. Don't tell, I'm sure I'm the only one who figured out that alcohol and flirting can lead to unprotected sex...OMG!!! That was the best gig for my social life but the money and job blew.
Military
No, but I came very close to going in to the Army to become an MP and then after serving my time, enroll in the Acadamy to become a Virginia State Trooper. Lemme say this, one DWI can really put a spin on ones long term planning if you are thinking Law Enforcement. I REALLY wasn't driving, I was sitting in my car waiting for my ride because it was the middle of winter and we were watching The Super Bowl and guess who was making the beer run...those alcohol films and discussion groups were pretty boring.
