Amy's Story
After graduation, I went to The College of William and Mary and obtained a BA in both Elementary Education and Theatre. I taught at Westhaven Elem. School (in Portsmouth) from August, 1993 to January, 2000. (I got my Masters degree in Public School Administration at Old Dominion in 1998.) In 2000 (-Technically over x-mas break in December of 1999), I moved out to Hollywood, California and worked concurrently at Universal Studios (as a media rep and tour guide - Yep, I did those famous tram tours!) and at Paramount Pictures. At Paramount, I was audience coordinator for shows like Frasier, Backer, and Two Guys and a Girl. In 2001, I got a job in the Administration Department at Paramount as an assistant to two Directors. was promoted to Payroll Manager, and I ran the Executive Payroll/Benefits for four years. In July of 2006, while on vacation back in VA (visiting my Dad), I was introduced (by my step-mom - My mom passed away in 1999: Breast Cancer) to my soon-to-be husband, Bobby, who lives in Waynesboro, VA (30 mins west of Charlottesville). In July 2007, I resigned from Paramount, packed up my house, said goodbye to the Pacific Ocean, and moved to Waynesboro, VA, where I've started my own online retail business. Dad lives in Waynesboro, too, so it's really great to be back in Virginia and close to my family again! Los Angeles was exciting (I lived pretty-much across the street from Grauman's Chinese Theatre.), but I truly love living in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley/Blue Ridge Mountains of the best state (Ok, Commonwealth!) in the Union: VA!
