Amy's Story

Life I have no pets. Raising 3 children was enough. I like to go out to dinner, watch a good movie, go for a walk. I love to shop for clothes. I love shopping on tv. I love to play bingo, go to the casinos. I hate to cook, mainly within the last 10 years. But I love home cooking as long as someone else cooks. I love BBQ in the summertime. Taking a swim, dancing with my girls. I love when my husband brings me gifts and flowers. I love going fishing with him, taking walks to the pier. I like to be healthy and exercise. I go on the treadmill daily. I live near the beach so its nice and cool, I love the scenery there. I like taking family vacations with my sisters and their families. We have been to Hawaii, Bahamas, Cruises, Las Vegas, Florida, etc. My family loves to have parties and eat good food. We love to entertain family and friends. I was raised a catholic and raised my kids as catholics. My parents died in the late 80`s and early 90`s. They raised 6 girls and 1 boy. My family continues to extend. There are 3 expectants at this time. I`m filipino but all my sisters and I married out of the race. The men in our family loves filipino women though. We pretty much followed our culture and live the way our parents taught us. My father was an army captain so me and my sisters had a strict upbringing. We were not allowed to have boyfriends in high school. My younger sisters were able to get away with it though. My father had to keep 2 jobs after he retired from the army in order to raise 7 children. My mom worked as a hairdresser mainly so she can have her own spending money. I was shy as a child growing up, but I was smart. I think those of you who knew me in grade school can vouch for that. I spent a couple years in community college but my father told me I was too expensive for his pocketbook, so he told me to get a job. So I gave up my secretarial degree and went to work for the phone company fo 28 years t...Expand for more
il I retired in 2005. I`ve been taking it easy for the last couple years, mainly because of my health. My body has suffered a lot of wear and tear throughout the years. Surprisingly, I still look good for 48 years. We know how old we are! I have 2 best friends, who I grew up with and we are still close today. I also have other friends who I try to keep in touch with. I have a wonderful husband who I fell in love with the first time I met him. He is a clown like me. We both just make each other laugh all day. I have to say he was a hunk when I met him and is still a hunk today. He is creole and his family is from Louisiana. He uses a small bottle of tabasco sauce and uses the whole bottle for 1 meal to himself. I love creole cooking and I have learned a few things or more. I make gumbo, jambalaya, red beans and rice. My husband likes my cooking, but he claims his moms the best cook ever. Thats okay, my mom was the best filipino cook in the world! I make some filipino dishes like lumpia, pancit, chicken adobo, sinangang, I think our mom taught me and my sisters well. My oldest sister overcooks her vegetables in her lumpia and makes the taste sour. So right now I am just a relaxing early retiree. I love my life right now because its not too hectic. I am going to work again because I want to be able to keep busy. I figure maybe in another year. It is so easy for the mind to idle when you are doing nothing. But I enjoy a stress-free life. I like a quiet household. I love to sleep in. I have 2 adult kids and 1 teenager. My oldest daughter lives in Sacramento. My only son is home with me along with my teen. He will be working at Safeway for now, until he gets a plumber job. He took the plumbers union test last week. I have good kids. They`ve done their share stressing me out, but in reality its pretty normal.Well, this is all I can think of right now. If I can think of anything else I will just add it later.
