Ana's Story

Since a long time I wanted to give my deepest, warmest thanks and sympathy to every single friend, student or teacher, that gave me a smile at CHS. For accepting me as one of you when I enter to join Clintondale.s family. For giving me a hand, facilitating me a word, trying to understand my many ¿?¿, or by just giving me a big smile or a funny face when I could not communicate properly. All those experiences showed me a different path in life, filled me with a different kind of friendship, solidarity, love, patience, confidence and peace, besides it gave me a chance to grow inside and gave me a feeling of greatfulness for all the things I received during those days. These tools of love I¿ve have received, gave me wisdom and a need to help others without expecting anything in return just like I received from all of you. It also gave me a great strength during my trouble times, and the necessary hope and faith to keep moving on. I have very lovely memories from my school days, because all of you made me feel loved. As I have been travelling back and forth to the U.S., my English is still not so good, but loving poetry as I do, I rather share with all of you one piece from one of my favourite writers Kahlil Gibran about friendship. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do, I send it with all my love: Your friend is your needs answered. He is your field which you sow with love and reap with thanksgiving. And he is your board and your fireside. For you come to him with your hunger, and you seek him for peace. When your friend spe...Expand for more
aks his mind you fear not the "nay" in your own mind, nor do you withhold the "ay." And when he is silent your heart ceases not to listen to his heart; For without words, in friendship, all thoughts, all desires, all expectations are born and shared, with joy that is unacclaimed. When you part from your friend, you grieve not; For that which you love most in him may be clearer in his absence, as the mountain to the climber is clearer from the plain. And let there be no purpose in friendship save the deepening of the spirit. For love that seeks aught but the disclosure of its own mystery is not love but a net cast forth: and only the unprofitable is caught. And let your best be for your friend. If he must know the ebb of your tide, let him know its flood also. For what is your friend that you should seek him with hours to kill? Seek him always with hours to live. For it is his to fill your need, but not your emptiness. And in the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter, and sharing of pleasures. For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed. P.S.: At the moment I live in Caracas Venezuela, I've been married for 18 years to Rafael, a general surgeon and a wonderful human being, have no kids, was a vegeterian for more than 20 years, not as strict now, got my US citizenship, and most of my family lives in Florida and Boston. My whole life has been blessed in many ways, and also because one day I met a person like the one that is reading this right now and made me very happy. Love you all.
