Anana's Story
After high school I attended American University in Washington, DC. I moved to Maryland where I attended Towson University for two semesters. Then I moved home (after deciding not to get married), had my daughter (12 yrs old now) and graduated from Pitt in 1996.
I worked for a law firm for a year before I received a full scholarship to Loyola Marymount University-Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. While at LLS, I was President of the Black Law Students' Association, Day Division Member of the Dean's Search Committee, two time recipient of the Womens' Roundtable Scholarship, member of the Entertainment Law Review and recipient of the Board of Governor's Outstanding Service Award at graduation. I received an offer from a large West LA firm where I worked for a very short period of time because the hours and my daughter (5 at the time) did not agree. I did, however, pass the CA Bar Exam on the first attempt.

while, moving from LA to Pgh to AZ (where my mom moved) to SF/Bay Area to AZ and now back to LA where I intend to remain unless some really hot rich guy sweeps me off my feet and doesn't get on my nerves (fat chance so I'll be here).
During my bouncing around I almost got married a second time, but decided not to again, had a son in Berkeley, CA (4 yrs old now), passed the AZ Bar on the first try, taught as an adjunct college professor (Poli Sci & Law classes), and now have my own fledgling law practice. I intend to return to school to get a PhD in Political Science & MBA (joint program) this fall or Summer so I can get out of the business of law. And since I've traveled all over the US (even Hawaii), I want to learn some languages and travel to Europe (first world countries only).
My first priority is my children whom I absolutely adore, I love experiencing new things, I am addicted to the beach and I'm not crazy about being an attorney.
