Andre's Story

Well my fellow Jeffersonian it’s been a long time since our days at Jefferson. Certainly we had some real wild years at Jeff. Personally I was very lucky to graduate from Jeff and while it was a real challenge I was able to complete four years of College. Based on my troubled years growing up as a youth, I elected to major in Social Welfare with emphases in counseling. My work experience included a position in a community counseling center. There I worked with trouble teens and their families as a therapist. I also work with the police diversion program. This program was designed for first time offenders. The idea was to keep first time offenders out of the system. My job was to offer counseling services to the teenager and meet with all the family members to find workable solutions to their issues. My last job landed me in group home for teenagers. Their after I made a change in my career seduced by the pay I took a position with a sales company. My years as a recruiter for the college of San Mateo and San Francisco State help trained for the position. The company offered a few lines of equipment servicing the foodservice industry. After three years there I decided start my own company and I expanded the lines of equipment. As a business strategy I went back to school to learn architectural design. I built my company providing design contact services. We built everything from a 500 sq ft coffee shop to a 30,000 sq. ft. grocery store. The real profit to the company was from the sales of equipment. However in recent years the equipment sales bottom out and ma...Expand for more
king a profit was a real difficult. The company had to change its business model to keep a float. Refrigeration was always the larger percent of the profit for the company. To stay in business we focus on industrial cold storage facilities. Now we market the country with much of work in the western states and Hawaii. However we have work as far as Vermont and get calls from east coast often. As many of you know I had twin boys in my senior year at Jefferson. The boys are almost forty now and I have three grand children from them. Both kids have work for me and currently my one boy Jason works there as a sales manager. I have been married twice now. Once for three years and currently we have been married nearly 22 years now. We have one teenage son almost 16 teen. Oh yeah and having lots of fun. While teen are a challenge in any case my son was born with disabilities A.D.D., C.O. and a blend of some other conditions. Our faith plays an important roll in our lives and we are very lucky to attend the Christ the King parish in Pleasant Hill an exceptional Catholic parish. We are all very active with activities at the parish. I also have been a member of Knights of Columbus for over 20 years. I lost my mother last year at the age of 82. My older sister Sandy is disabled, but able to get around ok. My youngest sister Maria is married and has two young kids. Both sisters live in Sacramento. My brother Maurice lives in San Bruno and has two grown children. He is planning to join us for the class reunion where I hope to see you all. Otherwise I wish you all the best.
