Life
I am Andrea Hyde Rogers; I'm divorced since 1972; mother of 3 grown daughters (ages 49, 48, 47, and one grown son (45 on July 28, 2012)---all from the same ex- husband, who passed away on April 5, 2011.....also I am the grandmother of 8 grandchildren (4 boys; ages 10, 11, 20 and 24 this year) (4 girls; ages 1, 12, 24, and 25...eldest is married for a bit over a year... ). The older grandchildren are all college educated...one graduated last year from LeMoyne College..Criminal Justice..a granddaughter....the married granddaughter graduated from the Atlanta School of Design, with a four year degree in Art and spent 27 months in the Peace Corps in Togo, Africa.....one of her brothers graduated from the U of Florida last year in Psychology, and is going for his masters...their little brother (6'4") is in his sophmore year at the U of W. Florida on a full scholarship...he was a 4.0 student all through high school...he is studying Criminal Justice and wants to work for the FBI...The four younger grandchildren are all very good students...They were all born in NYS....I'm an U.S. Navy Veteran (WAVES)1960-1961; Washington, DC, U.S. Naval Security Station, and lived in Arlington, VA then; I was Honorably Discharged as a Journalist Third Class....I now vol...Expand for more
unteer in the membership office of the Friends of the NYS Military Museum, here in Saratoga Springs, NY--- and also at the Canfield Casino in historic Congress Park, Saratoga Springs, NY (millionaires from all around the world used to gamble there in the 1800's, but now it's owned by the city and it's our History Museum, which includes the Reuben Hyde Walworth family museum floor)....I am the Chaplain for the Saratoga Chapter NSDAR (Daughters of the American Revolution), and I am also the Sr. Chaplain for the "Bemis Heights Children of the American Revolution"..... I'm a prospective member of the "United States Daughters of 1812", "Major George Armistead Chapter" and "The NYS Mayflower Assn." I live in a Sr. Citizen's apt. house with my cat, "Peachy Keen, II", and am trying to write about the '40's and the 50's, and a bit about the beginning of the '60's....my wonderful soulmate died of cancer on September 29, 2001, and I still miss him today, but I still love my "solitary life"....I hope you are all fine and healthy and love your lives.....
ps: I really do miss my friend, Beverly "Cookie" Schaap Downing, as we've lost touch in the last few years since she moved to Cicero area.
