Andrea's Story

My how things have changed since I first posted! Divorced in 2010...Nathan is now 18 and a senior in high school. He was starting center this year for the Bulldogs and they finished 8-3. They made it all the way to the 1st round of the GA State Championships! So proud of my boy!! Katie is 15 and my little drama queen. She started high school this year.
I have been in a relationship with John Peacher now for over two years. Happiest I've ever been in my life (besides the births of my children of course). He's good to me and treats me as if I were the most precious thing that has ever existed.
I went to work for Broadway Electric Service Inc. in October 2009 and am working as an office manager on a project located at Savannah River Site (SRS) after losing my job at Boral after almost 14 years with them. When the housing industry tanked, so did the brick business. I enjoy the work and the people I work with are wonderful.
Why anyone would want to read a story about me and who I really am is truly unbelievable. But for that one curious individual (or two) that wants to know...here goes. After graduation (June 1982)I attended Augusta Tech in which I received a diploma in Graphic Arts. It took somewhere around 6 months or so for me to realize that this was not something that I wanted to make a career ...Expand for more
out of. I went to work for an insurance company in 1985 and worked as an office manager. I remained in the insurance industry for 10 years, working as office manager/sub agent until the day came that my employer told me that he could not afford to pay me anymore...that really sucked! After a 6 week unemployment stint, I went to work for Boral Bricks as a part time clerk in their Credit Dept. That was over 13 years ago.
As for family, I married (Richard Salyer) in October 1986. Our first child, Nathan, was born in September 1993 and Katherine came along in November 1996. Nathan started high school this year (9th grade) and played both JV and varsity football. Although the varsity squad had a winless season, JV went to the championship game. Unfortunately, they lost to Laney. Nathan attends Butler High (I know...I know!) Katherine, or "Katie" as we call her, is in grade 6. They grow up so fast! I moved back in to my parent's home in May 2007 and continue to live there with my dad after my mom died in January 2008 after an almost 2 year battle with cancer.
In my spare time, I volunteer as a Girl Scout co-leader with my daughter's troop. I am also a Butler Athletic Booster Club member.
