Andrea's Story
After living in Santa Cruz for 35 years, my husband and I moved to Whidbey Island, Washington in 2008.
Our 2 children are grown and we are grandparents. Our daughter (32) is married with a 2 year old daughter - they live in Santa Cruz. Our son (28) has a 7 year old son and they live in Kauai.
I worked in the accounting and management field for 32 years.
Life took an unexpected turn last year when my husband was diagnosed with Alzheimer'...Expand for more
s at the age of 58. So, he is on early disability retirement, and I am his "caregiver". Despite all that, we absolutely love living here in the Puget Sound area of the North West. Small town, friendly people.
We lead a simple life of gardening, enjoying wildlife, and doing creative projects. We do our best to stay in gratitude for these days together. Some couples never have the chance to share a sense of retirement together. We have that.
