Andrew's Story
After leaving RU, I briefly attended Wayne State before going to work full time. I worked in the record industry until the mid nineties. During this period I moved to Chicago but lacking maturity and the proper financial resources to do it correctly I ended up having to tuck my tail between my legs, accept my failure, and return home after being there for just a few months. In '99 I got an opportunity to move to Dallas, TX which I jumped on. While in Dallas I worked at a couple of different jobs, the first one being a restaurant mgr , the other was bartending. That was in 2005...still trying to get it together and go back, unfortunately due to the nature of the studies I would have to start completely over at the beginning which is proving to be an overwhelming obstacle for me to get back to it.So, I'm still a bartender, but I truly enjoy what I do and since I have no dependents, I earn a very decent living from it (sound a bit defensive, don't I? LOL). This past June, after ten years as a Texan, I returned to Detroit. Originally it was to be a very temporary stay (2 or 3 weeks) to help out my mother who fell seriously ill, but a few days after arriving I was offered a job as a bartender at a great place ran by a friend of mine and I (for reasons I'm still unsure of) quickly accepted it & decided to make the move permanent. So here I am...for now content but I'm sure it's just a matter of time before I need to once again run away from Detroit in order to retain my sanity. We'll see...
