Andrew's Story
Since getting out of the Navy in December, 1967, I have lived in Orange Co., CA; Rochester, NY; Elyria, OH; Fort Wayne, IN; and Fort Worth, TX. Worked as a part time DJ on WEZV radio in Fort Wayne where I was also very active in Little League baseball and the Fort Wayne Ice Skating club. I have had the honor to serve a Grand Knight of my council, Navigator of my assembly, and District Deputy in Texas for the Knights of Columbus. I was at game #7 of the NBA finals in 1969 ( Bill Russellâs last game ); have had a 257 game and 603 series bowling; made a hole-in-one on the 13th hole at Huntington Seacliff Golf Club on September 8, 1969 ( 192 yards ); played the Firestone Country Club; have been in 39 states; have had the privilege of seeing Van Cliburn play on 2 occasions; have been to Symphony Hall in Boston when Arthur Fiedler conducted the Boston Pops; been to the Viking Museum in Oslo and to...Expand for more
ok a swim in the Sognefjord at Balestrand in Norway; been to the Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor and Viet Nam Memorial Wall in Washington where I saw the name of Joseph Antognini III; had my son graduate from the Air Force Academy in 1994 and he was awarded a Distinguished Flying Cross for action in Kosovo in 1999; one daughter was first chair clarinet in Texas all-state band; saw a performance of Les Miserables in the Palace Theater in London in 1999; in March of 1979, had a family picture taken at Claiborne Farm in Paris, Kentucky with the great Secretariat; and, I once gave the pre-show flight briefing to the Blue Angels when I was an Aerographerâs Mate at Naval Air Station Point Mugu, CA. Three of my grandchildren live in Houston, and all 3 of my daughters and the other three grandkids live within an hour of us. To say the least, I have been blessed.
