Andrew's Story
Life
I left for college in 1971 and graduated from Moorhead State University in Minnesota then went to the University of South Dakota for my Master in Education. I started as a Principal in Minnesota, married and had two daughters. I divorced in 1982 and moved to Bismarck, North Dakota and worked at an Indian College called United Tribes Technical College, re-married and had two more daughters. The job in Bismarck allowed me to travel all over the country doing Educational Training Workshops. I moved to Pine Ridge Indian Reservation twice as a Principal and as a college program director but returned to Bismarck each time. Last year I moved back to Pine Ridge after my divorce and was teaching at a Catholic Elementary School, currently I am working as a High School Principal on the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota named St. Francis Indian School. I have enjoyed working with kids all my carrer and I still enjoy it. o daughters grew up in Bismarck but moved to the Turtle Mountain Reservation in North Dakota, last year one graduated and is now attending Dartmouth, the youngest is my athlete and willl be graduating in May, she hasn't decided what college to accept an athletic scholarship from yet but will probably stay close to home in North Dakota. Those of you that remember my sister Norma Rendon, she lives here in Pine Ridge also and works as an administrator for a domestic violence shelter, she has six childern and five grandchildern. All her kids live around here, two are teachers in Reservation schools, one is a fireman, one is in college, and the two youngest are still in high school. Well that's it for the time being. since I wrote this two years ago I have three more grandchildern making it 20 now, my daughter will be graduating from Dartmouth next summer, the youngest is in the University of North Dakota studying to be a Math Teacher. I am still at St. Francis in South Dakota. And believe it or not I still consider myself a BULLDOG BORN AND A BULLDOG BREAD
