I got out of High School directly from 11th grade (sounds like a reprieve from prison when put that way), went to SUNY Stony Brook, spent my junior year abroad in England, graduated early from Stony Brook ('80, BA English) went on to Brandeis University as a PhD student in Literature, did my Masters' there in 82, took a year off after teaching a year, and traveled solo around the world (before it was de rigeur). ), Southeast Asia, and ended up settling back in Tuscany, learning Italian, etc. Went back to Boston to finish the doctorate, passed the orals, but did not finish the dissertation, moved to L.A., acted in some TV and film, met my wife, had my two boys, quit acting, worked as a graphic designer and creative director, continued my writing for magazines, mainly about design, and the Mac, and continue to do that. Whew. I'm currently teaching design at a local college, as well as online (at sessions.edu) and continue to do design work freelance. That's it, 30 years in a paragraph.
