Andrew's Story
The best things in my life are my wife Elissa, our two great daughters and one awesome son-in law. Elissa and I both love boating and riding / taking trips on our Harley. I also love to hunt and be with nature.
I'm currently President & CEO of Rad Air Complete Car Care and Tire Centers with ten (10) service centers in the Cleveland, Ohio suburbs. I attended Lincoln Technical Institute in Indianapolis, Indiana after completing a Vocational Automotive program in high school. After a short stint as a diesel mechanic, I started a career at Ford Motor Co., Engine division. While pursuing a business degree at Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, Ohio, I stayed with Ford for ten years, holding many hourly and supervisory positions while attending college part-time. Dismayed with big business and the need to follow my heart, I left Ford and purchased a small radiator shop in 1986 with one goal in mind, to be the best repair shop in town!
I am currently or has in the past sat on the Parma city schools vocational department âÃÂÃÂSteering CommitteeâÃÂÃÂ, the Ohio Technical College âÃÂÃÂProgram Advisory CommitteeâÃÂÃÂ, the Cuyahoga County Joint Vocational School âÃÂÃÂCurriculum CommitteeâÃÂÃÂ, and currently sit on the Cleveland BBB BOD. In the past 38 years in the automotive repair business, I have learned the value of training, management, marketing and the need to keep at the forefront of the technology affecting our industry.
I am ASE L1 and Master Tech certifications and is continually updating my and all of our employeesâÃÂàeducation. Rad Air Complete Car Care sand Tire Centers are A/CDelco TSS and ASE Blue Seal shops, along with being AAA (Ohio Motorist) and Ohio E-check approved repair facilities. country by Motor Age magazine. Additionally, Rad Air was also voted as the #1 auto repair shop in the 2010, 2011and 2012 FOX8 Hot List contest.
All of technicians are MACS, Ohio E-check, and ASE certified. I believ that our industry is changing at an accelerated pace; the need for education for both technicians and management has never been more important.
I operated A/C Specialty Cars from 1989 through 1995 and built 65 custom âÃÂÃÂCobraâÃÂàkit cars, street rods and show vehicles. I have also personally restored and modified many vehicles, was active in the show car circuit and won many awards. Several vehicles were featured in magazine articles. I have also served as a judge in several car show events.
I have been a MACS Worldwide member since 1987 and is a regular at the MACS conventions. I have been on the MACS Worldwide board of directors for the past 13 years and is currently the CEO and Chairman of the board. I am also a Cleveland Better Business Bureau board of directorâÃÂÃÂs member, and past chairman of the marketing subcommittee.
I also am a contributing editor for two trade magazines, A/C Action, and Motor Age and is published several times per year. I also sit on the âÃÂÃÂContent Advisory BoardâÃÂàfor Motor Age trade magazine, the largest publication in its field.
I once was the host of âÃÂÃÂAuto Tech ConnectâÃÂàa weekly live automotive call in talk show which aired every Wednesday evening on WERE 1300 AM âÃÂÃÂPeople Talk RadioâÃÂàin Cleveland Ohio from 2003 to 2006.
Our company (Rad Air Complete Car Care) also won the local Better Business Bureau âÃÂÃÂTorch AwardâÃÂàfor 2003 and again in 2005 as runner-up; which is given to business with outstanding integrity and customer service.
Can't wait to catch up with fellow classmates next year at our 40th.
