Life
OK, name: Andy Beechick. Rank: son of God according to John 1:12. And serial number: 1.
Country: USA. Born in Palmer, Alaska before it was a state and lived in a village on Afognak Island for a while.
Also lived in Arizona, Alaska again, Washington state, and now Colorado.
Baptist background, though I have also attended Methodist and Lutheran churches.
I taught elementary kids to read and crawl, high school kids to calculate and run, and my dog to stay, come, and pull a sled.
I ran under the midnight sun, across the wide Missouri, and on the tops of mountains. I ran X.25 and IP computer networks, but never ran a 4-minute mile.
I worked in a greenhouse watering plants, planted seeds of grass and flowers and trees and the Word of Life, built a doghouse and treehouses, repaired roads, unplugged sewers, replaced floors and roofs, painted houses, mended fences, but my bathtub faucet still leaks. Bible passages, cookie recipes, phone numbers, Winnie-the-Pooh poems, but I calculate my age (uh, 45?).
These are a few of my favorite movies: "The Sound of Music", "The Music Man", "Fiddler on the Roof", "The Princess Bride", "The Black Stallion".
For books, the Chronicles of Narnia series, "The Cabin and the Ice Palace", "Giants in the Earth", "Adam and His Kin", "Rink-a-tink of Oz", Genesis and the rest of the Bible.
Some songs I like are "Worthy is the Lamb" from Handel's Messiah, "Holy, Holy, Holy", "Sweet Lamb of God", "I'll be Home", "Honey (I Miss You)", and "The Marvelous Toy."
I like the color of Alaska, green-green trees, shining autumn leaves, and sunsets that fill the sky.
I like Bible invitations that say, "Come." "Ho, everyone that is thirsty! Come. You who have no money, come." "You who labor and are heavy laden, come." "Come and dine." "Come into the ark." "The Spirit and the bride say, 'Come.'"
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
To everything there is a season, and a balanced diet is having equal amounts of ice cream in each hand.
