Andy's Story
In 1991 I left the hospitality industry to go back tobschool and became a teacher. I know this seems like an odd turn in my life. I believe it was the best decision I could have made in my life. I truly love what I do everyday. I am currently teaching Family and Consumer Sciences at Norwalk high school in Norwalk, Iowa. I am also the district vateer and technical education curriculum leader. of the year. In September I found out I had been named the 2008 Iowa Teacher of the Year. In 2013 I was nominated for and was named the 2013 FCS Iowa Teacher of the Year. In April of 2014 I fulfilled my professional dream when I completed my Doctorate in Education through Walden University. This fall I am going to begin the process of National Board Certification in FCS-Culinary Arts.
I am living and loving life in Johnston, Iowa. I continue be an unabashed history geek.
