Angela's Story
School
I have to give credit to my teachers in high school. Mrs. Hicks (Miss Vickers to me then), you were really really tough, and everyone hated your class, but you probably prepared me the best out of them all for college classes. Mr. Nax was more in the college class style, but Mrs. Hicks was tough, and that's exactly how it should be. Mr. Hazell, you are most certainly the favorite of any student that's taken any of your classes. If you're not, that's because that student's got something wrong with them. Of course, I have to say that, because it was in your class that I met the man I later married. You facilitated that romance like no other teacher has ever done before. And I have to thank you for it. But you were a great teacher. You inspired, you encouraged, and you helped your students find confidence in themselves that they didn't even know they had. Your views on life and the world may have seemed new, and somewhat odd, but you helped us to see things in a different light. I have to say, no matter if a student liked you or not, they left your tutelage a better person. I have only had one other teacher that has even come close to being as awesome as you are.
High school is, was, and and may always be, the best years of my life. I made friends that I will cherish and remember forever, I met the man that became my best friend and later my husband, and I learned more about myself and my world than I ever will again. I would definitely do it all over again. I would de...Expand for more
al with all the drama, the crushes, the heartbreaks, the oh-so-serious relationships. It was the most exciting time of my life, all those things packed into so few years. I love to connect with old friends and reminisce about all that happened, all that didn't, and all that should have. I would love to go back and do it again.
Military
I have to post a military bio. I'm not in the military, but I married a man who is. I grew up an Army Brat, vowed to never live that life again, and then married a Sailor. Yup, I'm a Navy wife. Most of our relationship was spent apart. I spent more time on a plane in six months going to see him than I'd spent in my whole life. The day after he proposed, I had to fly back home to college exams. I only saw him twice in the entire eight months we were engaged. Our wedding had to be planned very hastily so as to be completed before he deployed. Two weeks after we were married, he shipped out for six weeks. He came back for three months, and then we were separated for seven months. I spent that entire time glued to my cell phone for the calls at two am. I walked out of several college classes with my ear to the phone because he called. We spent our first Valentine's Day apart. He came back three weeks before our first wedding anniversary. We are now five months away from two years, and amazingly enough, I wouldn't give it up for the world. Our absence most assuredly made our love stronger, and I cherish every day I get to spend with him now.
