Angie's Story
Life
After graduating from Miami University in Oxford, OH, in 1986, I moved to Chicago. I began a career in writing, editing, communications, marketing and public relations, etc., specializing in the medical and non-profit arenas. After many years of enjoying singlehood and a few close calls, I met my husband, Peter Leondedis, my first day of work at the American Hospital Association. We started as friends but wound up getting engaged four months later. We married on November 4, 1995. We bought a condo in Evanston, IL, and focused on our respective careers, having fun with friends, and traveling to Europe and other wonderful destinations. We were blessed with fraternal twin boys, George and Alex, on February 4, 2000. I have been a stay-at-home mom to the twins for the past five years. among the five best in the country. We've had a great time getting to know our neighbors and making new friends. The boys are eight now and in second grade. I continue to freelance part-time when the right opportunity comes along. It's difficult to find the right work situation that still allows me to be home with the kids after school and to take off when they are sick or have a vacation day. If I could start my own dream company, it would be finding and employing smart, educated women in a job-share, temporary employment agency. Of course, being a stay-at-home mom of twin boys is a mental challenge in a very different way. I also enjoy volunteering at the boys' school and in my neighborhood in various capacities (too often, according to Peter), working out, gardening, book club, and spending time with friends. I haven't been great about keeping in touch with high school or college friends, but would like to do better.
