Angie's Story

After graduating from Warren Easton in 1965, I attended LSU and received a bachelors degree in journalism. My first job was at Tulane Medical Center as the medical news editor. I met my ex-husband and South African Terry Ryan during Mardi Gras in l974, got married, moved to Puerto Rico and had my daughter Mandy in 1977 (she's now 31-years-old and teaches high school biology at Walton High School in Marietta, Ga.) I moved to Marietta, Ga. following my divorce in 1987, worked nine years at the American Cancer Society's national headquarters. Afterwards, my career continued in public relations, mostly health communication and marketing. Currently, I'm a health communic...Expand for more
ation specialist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. I don't plan to retire for quite awhile. In 2002, I was diagnosed and treated for early stage breast cancer. I'm doing fine. Several years ago, I was inducted into the Warren Easton Hall of Fame for my work in breast cancer prevention, education and advocacy. I never remarried and still live in Marietta, Ga. I love to travel, mostly to Provence in southern France. I stay in touch with Arthur Hardy, Susan Scherer, and Eileen Ittman Thurman, but would love to hear from my old friends from Easton. And I usually get to Jazz Fest every year. Please drop me a line. Best wishes, Angie Lukowski Ryan

A different kind of Christmas. Hope you had a wonderful day.
In the holiday spirit. Dropping off toys and gifts for 2 six-year-old girls in DeKalb foster care. It’s a great feeling to help make Christmas special for two children. Love it!
Used my mom’s old colander this morning to drain spinach. Must be at least 60+ years old. Brought back fond memories of her and past Thanksgivings. Miss you mom.
Save our planet!

For Irene on Mother's Day. She was a warm and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. I miss her.

Throwback Thursday. That's me in 7th grade. Puberty can really be a tough time! What's with that hair and those eyebrows?
