Angie's Story
Life
After high school I did some traveling and eventually moved to the beach (H.B.). I worked 'cocktailing', 'bartending' and 'waitressing' after graduation. Which allowed me a flexible schedule conducive to fun & travel!!! The motto I still live by today!
In 1994 I moved down to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. I was a bartender on a yacht and did sunset, snorkeling & whale watching cruises. During the days I did a lot of beach activities as well as bungy jumping for fun. I loved it!
I met my husband, Dan, when he moved down to Cabo from Palos Verdes, California in 1996. We soon fell in love and decided to move back to Cali and start our lives together.
Dan went back to school while I enrolled for the first time! While going to school I worked part time in restaurants, and with children. I found college enjoyable and enlightening. Dan finished school at Fullerton University and I finished at Fullerton College. I really got off to a late start, but finally finished my AA in 2001. Yeah!
On July 8, 2000 we got married in a beautiful beach ceremony in Jamaica. We now reside in Miami (Coral Gables) Florida. We enjoy the beautiful beaches, diverse cultures, tropical weather and close proximity to the nearby Caribbean islands, South America and Europe.
My husband graduated law school in 2004 from the University of Miami. He is a practicing civil defense attorney here in Miami.
Over the years I have done all kinds of jobs. Everything from jewelry & furniture sales (both contemporary and antique), book-keeper, office manager, antique store manager and then more school. I enrolled in Eastern Medicine for my bachelor in Science and Masters in acupuncture.
After much thought I withdrew from my acupuncture program in 2007 to be a stay at home wife and do personal real-estate investing. My goal is to secure a cushy, early retirement for us. I love it and the challenges it brings me. I have managed to put together a great team of people long distance. I invest in other parts of the country via phone, fax, conference calls and e-mail. doing well. I especially love the freedom it allows me. Plus, I get to call the shots! One of the best parts is not having to get dressed in the mornings for work! I can over see my business from my home office and get in an exercise class or do a load of laundry if I feel so inclined. Nice!
We love traveling and look forward to the many new places we discover together. I enjoy planing weekend getaways and exotic or cultural vacations. I like going to the beach, healthy cooking, entertaining, movies, watching our favorite TIVO'd shows, long bike rides in our neighborhood and getting together with our friends.
For fitness I still work out and I enjoy Pilates. I also like to volunteer time & support causes monetarily that I feel strongly about. Such as homelessness, disaster relief, stopping human trafficking, Cancer research, abuse and supporting our local pet adoption agency where we adopted our two kitties .
I had a beautiful cat named Peachka' since she was 6 weeks old. She was an awesome traveler and was my constant companion for years. Sadly she passed after 15 1/2 years and I/we miss her to pieces!
Dan finally talked me into seeing kitties at an adoption agency for strays :) We decided to adopt a 3 1/2 year old tubby, tabby and we named him Boswell. Lbs for lbs he's a sweetheart! We thought he might be lonely since he grew up in a shelter around tons of cats. So we recently adopted him a kitten! Now he has a baby sister named Bianca Be and they adore each other.
We have no children (although we do like other peoples kids...lol). We are very happy together and life is good and seems to be getting better everyday!
Fast forward to March 2012. I haven't been on here in awhile. Still working from home, doing investing. My husband made partner recently and is enjoying his new responsibilities. Our cats are fat, happy and healthy. We are still traveling the globe every chance we have & appreciating all the different cultures we encounter. Life is good and keeps getting better.
