Anita's Story
Life Update for 2014. Married with four children. Two boys and two girls. Ages 24, 22, 20, 18. Our oldest son is married with a little girl and our 2nd son is in the Air Force just returned from Okinawa,Japan and stationed in Utah how. He is married. 20 year old with mental retardation (Chromosome abn) and 18 year old daughter starting Johnson and Wales in Charlotte this year.

I am a Physician Assistant and after 11 years working in the public health arena developing and working in three teen clinics, I now work in industry work-site wellness clinics at CommScope. Formerly, I spent several years contracted to Century Furniture/Valdese Weavers, Clayton Marcus, Drexel Heritage, Plastic Packaging, Sherrill Furniture and Hickory Springs Mfg.
I am very involved with church activities and feel that my relationship with Jesus Christ is the most important thing in my life. I teach youth Sunday School.
My husband, Jim, and I have been married since 1989. He works in Law Enforcement (you may have seen him on a National Geo "Lock Down" special...:). He retired in 2012. Workplace
I've worked as a Physician Assistant since 1990. My first position was in Occupational Health at the old St. Joseph's Hospital in Lorain, Ohio. In 1994 I moved to NC in order to work on a Mobile School-linked Health Center with teens. In 1996 I took a position that allowed me to base at an Alternative High School and later help in building it into a School-Linked Health Center that serves the entire county. It was very rewarding to help so many teens and to work independently. In late 2005, changes in the teen program through public health caused me to seek another rewarding direction in healthcare. I work in Occupational Health again at work-site based clinics within the furniture industry. I provide comprehensive healthcare to their employees. It saves everybody money (and allows me to make a little more).
Jim is working at Alexander Correctional Facility in Taylorsville, NC, as the Facility Intelligence Officer. He plant to retire at the end of 2012.
