Ann's Story
Life
I live in Freeport as I have most of my adult life. I am the Director of the Social Service Department at Meadowbrook Care Center in Freeport. We are a large SNF and Rehab facility. I have been in the field for 30 years, working in various such facilities around the Island. I am divorced and have three children who are 27, 24 and 23 respectively. Two of them are adopted from Korea which involved me deeply in foreign adoptions and related issues. My daughter, Allison, is employed in the computer field; my son, Tim, resides in New Hampshire still "finding himself" and my youngest son, Matthew, is a student at Five Towns College in the music technology field. Whenever free, I go to New Hampshire ...Expand for more
to my vacation home on Lake Winnepesauki which I share with my brother, Fred (Class of 63) and his family. We especially love to snow ski and sail our boat (in the appropriate seasons, of course.) I am a captain in the Nassau County Police Auxiliary and find this a great way to "give back." I remain active in church activities and continue to pursue my love of music. My age has slowed my sports pursuits but I do still love to participate. I love the Mets and Jets (sometimes inspite of themselves) and am very interested in crafts. I do fabric painting and quilting among other things. Otherwise, I am just aging along with the rest of you, hopefully with some grace, and look forward to hearing from you.
