I recently retired from my position as communications manager for the Virginia Retirement System, where I worked for the past 25 years. I moved to Richmond in 1980 for a job opportunity with the state and have stayed here. I am the author of three books, won numerous awards, and started and sold two newsletters during my career and freelance endeavors. e at the Richmond Athletic Club, a fun job where I get to meet lots of people. I miss the beach and the tidewater area, but go down to the Outer Banks when I just have to get back to the beach. I own a home in the historic district of Richmond, where I live with my 2 year old English Springer Spaniel, Charley.
