Ann's Story

Some major changes have happened in my life in the last year. I have another granchild born in November the day before I lost my husband to cancer. It has been a long 7 months. I just take one day at a time. Now I have a total of 6 grandbabies 3 boys and 3 girls. My son lives here in Lexington and my daughter lives in South Carolina. My daughter's youngest has been diagnosed with Leukemia. Another change in life. He is responding to treatments and is in remission. Other than playing with my babies and trips to SC I don't have time for much, except work and school. ...Expand for more
I am a Senior at the University of Kentucky and majoring in Sociology. I got sidetracked as you can tell, so now it is my turn for college. I hope to graduate in December 2009 then back to UK for my masters degree in social work. I worked for GTE (Verizon) for 25 years until I was laid off in 2003. We were living in Myrtle Beach at the time. We moved back to KY in 2004 when my mom became ill. I now work at the Kentucky Children's Hospital and love it. I hope to continue working there after graduation. My days are spent working, in school, and loving my babies.
