Ann's Story
Life
I live in Bermuda, married to a Pediatrician whose family has been here since 1615. My husband attended Oxford University and that has provided us with a wonderful, international group of friends. Being in Bermuda has also allowed for unique friendships and experiences, as it is very small but very sophisticated. My children have had the privilege of growing up with people from all over the world and of traveling since they were young. As a nurse, I worked with my husband for 20 years. I have one daughter living in Switzerland, married to an orthopedic surgeon. They have two little boys. My second daughter was an officer in the USMC and married another officer. She is now out of the Corps and home with her two little girls. My son-in-law is a major and the family...Expand for more
is currently in Okinawa, after spending two years in Beijing. My son spent 9 years in the USMC infantry and retired due to injuries to his hips. He currently works for the Military Order of the Purple Heart in Boston, a charitable organization the helps former military members get through the confusing process of applying for benefits.
At 57 I finally had the opportunity to learn to scull, something I always wanted to do but which was not offered when I was in college. I'll never be a competitor, but still love the sport and row whenever the weather permits.
This summer (2012) I will be my third year in Pompeii, participating in an archeological project for two weeks. I love Pompeii and always wanted to know it well, so this has been a wonderful opportunity.
