Ann's Story

It seems impossible that 45 years have gone by! I live in Northern California, am now retired and have time to reconnect with old friends. When I look back I am amazed at the twists and turns my life has taken, and I imagine others feel the same way. I think of myself as a survivor: of domestic violence (my first marriage many many years ago, now happily remarried); cancer (18 years ago)...Expand for more
; the New York City transportation and garbage strikes (late 70s); and years of trying to figure out what to do with my life (I finally did). I have a son in college and my 96-year-old mother has Alzheimers. I am sad to learn that many of our classmates are no longer here. It makes me more aware of how fleeting our time is, and how important it is to make connections while we still can.
